Working together: Avon Wildlife Trust are planning to form a partnership in 2015 with landowners, the local community and statutory agencies. More can be achieved through organisations, landowners and communities working together. The partnership will bring together the different interest groups for the area and agree priorities for action. It will be important to have different views represented on the partnership and also keep local communities informed of any proposals. We are keen to hear from people and also to attend local meetings.
Land Management: We would like to work with all landowners with a responsibility for ditch management and /or an interest in managing other habitats for wildlife. We can provide advice on conservation management and assistance with agri-environment schemes. There may also be opportunities for people to be involved in practical conservation work and monitoring habitat change.
Wildlife surveys: Recent surveys ( 2011-14) have given us a good understanding of the variety of habitats in the area and the species using them, and will help us all protect and manage the area better, but with such a vast area, there is still much we don't know. We realise there is a wealth of local knowledge and would like to work with everyone involved in conservation work in this area.
