Community Participation - The River Crane Community Project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund aims to improve access and engagement within three priority sites along the River Crane and increase opportunities for local communities to learn about, and participate in its unique natural heritage.
This community-based project complements the existing River Crane Conservation Project and together they will help restore ecosystems, recreate habitats and reconnect people with nature along the Crane Valley to ensure its future as a resource for both people and wildlife.
The community can get involved by participating in activities such as: reserve management work; educational sessions designed to put kids in touch with nature through river dipping sessions, mini beast hunts and art; the Crane River Festival; educational talks at local venues; health and wildlife walks.
